Marriage by vedik mantrasis a traditional practice in Hindu weddings .It involves chanting of various   mantras by priest during the wedding ceremony Mantras are considered to have a powerful spiritual  energy that is believed to sanctify the marriage and bring the blessings of the Gods.

The wedding ceremony starts with the chanting of  mantras to evoke the blessings of the Gods and Goddesses .The priest may also perform a havan or secret fire ceremony in which various offerings are made to the Gods and mantras are chanted.

During the wedding rituals the priest may chant various mantras to symbolise various aspects of the wedding for example the Ganesh mantra may be chanted to remove any obstacles that may arise in the wedding proceeding and to bring good luck and prosperity .The Saptpadi mantra is chanted during the 7 steps ritual symbolising the couple’s journey  through life together .
